]]>On April 10, 2017, Vision Christian Bible College & Seminary (VCBCS) attended the annual conference of the International Association of Bible Colleges and Seminaries (IABCS) in Atlanta, Georgia. The conference presided over by IABCS president Dr Randal Langley, consisted of twenty-five academic leaders from institutions throughout the United States and Mexico who assembled to discuss the present state, as well as the future outlook of IABCS.
Dr Christopher Romano, VCBCS’ Department Head of Theology and Biblical Studies commented, “I was so impressed with the leadership that Dr Randal Langley and his executive team demonstrated. He provided us with a clear vision for IABCS as well as a mandate for collaboration, transparency, and accountability for all member schools.” Romano also mentioned that having accreditation with an organization like IABCS was “vital” because of their “Kingdom-centric” philosophy of education.
VCBCS was established in 1992 by the late Dr Jan Garber and has operated successfully over the last 25 years equipping men and women for the work of the ministry. The graduates of VCBCS can be found serving God in the local church, in the marketplace, and in the mission field all around the world according to their specific gifts and callings.

Receiving accreditation from an organization like IABCS was important to the executive leadership of VCBCS for a variety of reasons. According to Dr Ron King, VCBCS’ Vice President, “Our relationship with IABCS is one that affords us with several strong benefits including academic credibility, institutional accountability, as well as a network of like-minded institutions.”
What also made IABCS so intriguing to VCBCS was its loyalty to its heritage as well as its commitment to the future. IABCS is the oldest theological accreditation organization in the United States but also has proven to be one of the fastest growing. This status has caused VCBCS to embrace its accreditation with IABCS with both confidence and excitement. Dr H.G. Strickland, a member of VCBCS’ executive board, put it best when he declared, “IABCS is not only concerned with ensuring quality Christian educational standards but utilising innovations and the kind of forward thinking that lends itself to adapting – even leading in the continually changing marketplace of learning.”
This is a value that is shared by the leadership of VCBCS who endeavour themselves to be key developers and pace-setters in the spheres of biblical training and education.

]]>The International Association of Bible Colleges and Seminaries impact continues to grow. One of the characteristics of a healthy
accreditation organization is the enthusiastic attendance of the members at the annual conference. In 2016, fourteen key leaders met in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2017, twenty-five leaders, including presidents, provosts, board members and others were in attendance.
After prayer, President Dr Randel S. Langley began the meeting by giving an overview of the history of IABCS. He invited everyone present to share information about their school and why they believe that Quality Religious Accreditation was right for them. Langley set the stage for an enthusiastic meeting where sincere and open dialogue happened.
There were several highlights of April 10, 2017.
This year IABCS will be supporting Message Ministries in their service of the Peru disaster relief. This year the rain that came to Peru was the worst they have seen in a long time. Over 120,000 people are homeless and necessities are needed. This ministry is strategically positioned to bring needed aid. IABCS is pleased to support this with a 10% tithe of our 2016 income. Check out this opportunity
A new website was developed. The website was updated for branding clarity. The new website was launched late last year. The new website features our new brand of non-governmental high-quality religious accreditation. The website was updated to include news and feature stories. Much appreciation was given to Wally De Le Fuente of a Christian Leaders Institute, and Dr Virgina Cornett of Christian Life Educators Network for their dedicated work to get the website ready for republishing.
The standards for academic credibility for the organization were discussed extensively. First, there was a review of the existing standards. President Dr Langley was tasked with updating those guidelines and then publishing them on the website.
The meeting included fruitful discussion, fellowship and prayer. Dr George Siemer of Faith Theological Seminary and Christian College, a member since 1990, said, “We developed a vision based on relationships to move into the future to provide an accountable standard for High-Quality Christian education unlike what we have been involved in previous years. I feel that IABCS has broken through to the true focus of fulfilling its original purpose. We have crossed the line into a new reality!”
Next year’s meeting will be on April 16, 2018, in Atlanta, Georgia.

The internet has made it possible to reach more people with ministry training opportunities. The Christian Leaders Institute accreditation with IABCS is important to our organization and the future of many schools and seminaries.”
Chrisitan Leaders Institute started in 2001. Chrisitan Leaders Institute delivers generosity-driven online ministry training. Christian Leaders Institute is serious about offering this training to the world. The International Association of Bible Colleges and Seminaries offers four important benefits for Christian Leaders Institute.
